Are you looking for a super easy, cute and fun treat for this football weekend? Score a touchdown with these yummy chocolate covered footballs!
Hey, y'all! Welcome to Saturday's Snacks where I share with you what we're munching on during the game. Recipes like Bunless Burger Bites, BBQ Chicken Pinwheels, and Loaded Tater Tot Skewers are perfect for game day munchies!
I love adding fresh elements to our game day spread- foods like veggie trays and Caramel Apple Nachos are a great way to do just that! Game days are a family affair in our clan. We all gather at my parents house to watch the Jaguars play and enjoy delicious foods. After watching my niece tear up the Caramel Apple Nachos, I decided to play around with more apple recipes.
Are you looking for a super easy, cute and fun treat for this football weekend? These no-bake chocolate covered football treats couldn't be any easier to make and are sure to be a fan favorite. In fact, these were so simple that my little niece helped me make them (hence the sloppy footballs ;) ).
Tip: Did you know that you could use orange juice or pineapple juice instead of lemon juice to keep your apples from browning?
Ingredients: 3 large apples, sliced 1 bag of Wilton candy melts, in chocolate 2 cups of pineapple juice 1 small tube white icing
Instructions: 1. Soak apple slices in pineapple juice for about 10 minutes and dry completely. See tip above if you are not a pineapple fan. **This step is not necessary if you don't mind the apple browning**
2. Melt chocolate according to package instructions.
3. Use a toothpick to dip apples in the melted chocolate. I only covered the rind side of the apple when I made mine but you could certainly cover the entire apple.
4. Place apple slices on parchment paper (or cutting board) and allow the chocolate to harden. I placed mine in the fridge for about 5 minutes to speed up this process.
5. Use white frosting to add the "laces" to the footballs.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you like these footballs as much as we did! Give me a like on Facebook or follow me on Instagram or Twitter for more fun, festive recipes like this one. See you next time!
