Jalapeño Popper Mummies

Crescent Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers are scrumptious treat perfect for munching on this Halloween season!

Hey, y'all! My friends and I love taking turns hosting Game Night. Game Nights are a great way to let loose after a long work week. Last weekend, my friends Jason and Dave hosted Game Night at their house. It was something I was looking forward to all week long! Ash and I booked a sitter, I planned out what appetizers I was bringing, and got my costume ready for the Halloween Game Night Bash!

The morning of the party, I suggested to Ash that we change into our costumes at the guys house so that our foster daughter, 5, doesn't get upset that we're dressed in our Halloween gear without her. Y'ALL! Apparently I was the only one that thought we were wearing Halloween costumes to the party! I almost showed up looking like a total idiot to Game Night. Whoops!

In keeping with the Halloween Theme (minus the costumes), I decided to make Halloween Jalapeno Popper Mummies.

Kitchen Essentials:

Ingredients:

10 jalapeno peppers

8 oz cream cheese, softened

8 oz Pepper Jack cheese, shredded

1/2 tsp minced garlic

1 scallion, sliced

Pinch of Salt

Pinch of Pepper

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls Candy Eyes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment pepper. Set aside.

  2. Wash and slice jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise. Scoop out the seeds and ribs with a spoon.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, pepper jack cheese, garlic, scallion, salt, and pepper with an electric mixer.

  4. Fill the peppers with the cheese mixture.

  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into 4 rectangles (2 triangles for each rectangle). Pinch the dough together to combine each of the 2 triangles. (See photo above).

  6. Use a pizza cutter to slice each rectangle into quarters lengthwise.

  7. Wrap 1 or 2 pieces of dough (depending on the size of the pepper). Leave a tiny space unwrapped for the eyes.

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough is a golden in color.

  9. Add candy eyes once the poppers have been removed from the oven.
