5 Soup Recipes to Keep You Warm This Winter

Are you feeling the "Winter Blues"? These soups are sure to lift your spirit and bring you back to life! Check out 5 of my favorite soup recipes!

Hey, y'all! Do you meal plan? I try to sit down each weekend and write out a menu and a grocery list for the upcoming week. For the last two weeks, I have had a Cheesy Potato Soup on my menu and I haven't been able to make it because it's been in the mid-70's to low-80's here in Florida. In January. I just can't bring myself to make a pot of soup when it is this warm outside. Instead, I've whipped up Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Chicken, and Fajita Stuffed Hassleback Chicken.

Now, I know not all of you are quite as "lucky" as us Floridians and you're in the midst of a cold spell. If you're bundled up in your sweater and warm socks, then this post is for you. Here's a list of my 5 Soup Recipes to Keep You Warm This Winter. And well, if you're hanging out barefoot and in a short sleeve shirt like I am, save this list for our next 24 cold snap.

Better Than Panera Broccoli + Cheddar Soup- This simple & delicious broccoli and cheddar soup is sure to be your new favorite soup recipe! This creamy combination of extra-sharp cheddar, fresh vegetables, and delicious spices is sure to keep you coming back for more!

Hearty + Healthy Taco Soup- Spice up your Taco Tuesday's with this hearty and healthy, low carb, gluten-free soup uses the ground meat of your choice along with tons of vegetables and pantry items. You'll feel skinnier just eating it! This soup is a breeze to put together and can be prepared on the stove top or in a crockpot.

Stuffed Pepper Soup- Dive into this rich, hearty and healthy home-style soup. Stuffed Pepper Soup tastes JUST like a traditional stuffed pepper, which is one of my favorite healthy dishes. The soup starts with a rich tomato and beef stock base that is enhanced with the tastes of peppers and onions and your choice of ground meat.

Carnival's Roasted Pumpkin Soup- I first sampled Roasted Pumpkin Soup on a Carnival cruise and searched for the recipe for years. A couple of years ago, I was able to sit down with one of Carnival's chef's to get the 411 on this recipe. I have to admit, this recipe takes quite a bit of time and preparation but it's actually quite easy to prepare and totally worth the wait!

The World's Best Chili Recipe- Everybody prepares their chili a little differently, but to me, this recipe is tops! It isn't too spicy (but can be tweaked to add a bit more heat) and it is nice and hearty. It's exactly the kind of chili you want to eat on a cold day. This chili can be prepared on the stove top or in a crockpot. It tastes great on its own or piled high on top of rice, cornbread, french fries, nachos or hotdogs!
