Simple and beautiful summer berries and cheese skewers are delicious and refreshing. They are perfect for summer BBQs!
Hey y'all! I've got bad news... you've been invited to a summer barbecue and asked to bring something to share. The only problem is, you're not much of a cook. Sure, it's easy to just run to the store, grab some kind of premade salad from the deli and pull it off like it's homemade but what if I told you that you can impress your friends and family without ever having to cook anything?
You're in luck! It's berry season. All of our local grocery stores are selling summer berries with BOGO or 2 for $5 making them super cheap and readily available for the dish you're going to make for the barbecue. Today you're going to learn how to make summer berries and cheese skewers.
These fruit and cheese skewers are perfect to take to parties and barbecues. They are excellent during these hot months since they are nice and cool and super refreshing. Oh...and did I tell you how easy they are to make?
These skewers are perfect for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day because they are super patriotic. I mean... these guys literally scream "RED, WHITE AND BLUE!!".
Ingredients:
Strawberries
Blackberries (or blue berries)
Mozzarella or Feta Cheese
Instructions:
1. Begin by rinsing all of your fruit. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Use a paring knife to remove the stems from your strawberries.
2. Decide a pattern that you want to use to create your kabobs. I created these for the Fourth of July so I went with red, white and blue or strawberry, cheese, blackberry, strawberry, cheese, blackberry.
