Super Easy Teriyaki Chicken

Are you looking for the perfect weeknight meal? Look no further! This recipe can be made with as little as 3 ingredients and takes just minutes to make. The end result is out of this world!

Hey, y'all! Happy Wednesday to you! I have to admit, I've been on an Asian kick lately. Recipes like Sheetpan Thai Peanut Chicken with Pineapple, Thai Chili Chicken, Baked Orange Chicken and Honey Garlic Chicken and Veggies are staples in my household. Oh, and I can't forget my meal-prep lunch last week, Thai Peanut Chicken Tacos with Pineapple Broccoli Slaw. All of these recipes are simple to make and taste phenomenal.

As you could probably tell, we eat a lot of chicken around here. We're talking like 4 or 5 days a week. I'm pretty sure I'm growing feathers and a beak at this point. Cluck, cluck Since we eat it so often, I'm constantly having to come up with different ways to make it seem different. One of my favorite ways to eat chicken is none other than teriyaki Chicken. We're talking food court style, juicy, sweet and delicious teriyaki. Yum!

Surely a dish with that much flavor must be difficult to make, right? Wrong! It's actually crazy simple. This recipe is so simple that it can be made with only three ingredients, chicken, soy sauce and brown sugar. The other ingredients, sesame seeds and green onion just add a little color to the dish. This recipe relies on natural sugars to thicken the recipe, rather than corn starch which gives it a beautiful, dark color.

Isn't it a beaut?

Preparing the dish is a breeze. Simply cook bite-sized pieces of chicken over medium-high heat in a cast iron or wok. Prepare a sauce using soy sauce, brown sugar and sesame seeds. Once the chicken is cooked through, pour the sauce over the chicken and continue cooking until the sauce becomes a glaze. This stuff tastes great over steamed rice. You can serve it with broccoli or snap peas. I like serving it with a broccoli slaw to give it a nice crunch.

If you don't own a cast iron, I strongly recommend this one on Amazon. We use our cast iron skillet at least 5 times a week, you can cook practically anything in it! They make great gifts for house warming parties and weddings too!

Kitchen Essentials:

Serves 2-3 Ingredients:

1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces Salt & pepper (to taste) 1/3 cup soy suace 1/4cup brown sugar 1 tbsp sesame seeds Cooking oil, for frying 1 green onion, sliced thin White rice, cooked

Instructions:

1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

2. Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet or wok over medium high heat.

3. Add the chicken and saute, stirring occasionally. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink on the inside.

4. In a medium size bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar and sesame seeds. Add mixture to the chicken and stir to combine. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the sauce reaches a simmer and thickens.

5. Remove from heat. Serve over steamed rice or broccoli slaw. Garnish with thinly-sliced green onions, if desired.
