Delicious + Creamy Margarita Dip

All of the flavors of a tangy margarita have been packed into this delicious, creamy dip!

Hey, y'all! As you know, we love a good game night! Game nights have kind of become of group of friends "thing". This weekend, our friends Jason & Dave hosted the festivities at our house. Ashley and I love these boys! They are both so freaking hilarious! We always have such a blast with them.

Anyone who knows Jason will tell you the boy absolutely loves margaritas. The guys went with us on trips to Honduras, Belize and Alaska and there wasn't a day that went by where Jason didn't have a margarita.

I mean... it was kind of obvious that I needed to come up with a recipe that screamed Jason. I thought about bringing Pineapple Jalapeno Margaritas, but I knew he'd already have margaritas on hand. I would need something just as original as he is... could I possibly pull off a margarita inspired dip? Something scoop-able and creamy but still laced with margarita flavors?

In a word, yes. I creamed together cream cheese and butter and folded in whipped topping to form a creamy base. I sweetened the mixture up a bit with powdered sugar and began tossing margarita flavors into the concoction. A little lime, some triple sec and of course, tequila. Yes. Tequila. In a dip.

Let me tell you, this stuff was so far-fetched and crazy that it actually worked!

Ingredients:

8 oz cream cheese, softened 8 tbsp butter, softened

8 oz whipped topping, thawed 1/4 cup tequila 1 tbsp triple sec 1 cup powdered sugar lime zest

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese using a mixer.

2. Add in triple sec and tequila. Stir to combine.

3. Add in powdered sugar. Stir to combine.

4. Add whipped topping and the zest of 1/2 a lime into the mixture. Fold to combine.

5. Transfer the dip to a serving dish. Garnish with slices of lime and lime zest.

6. Serve with salted pretzels.

I unveiled my new dip at the party and the initial reactions were:

Jason: Oh my God, this is so good!

Dave: I don't like margaritas but this is good. I like that it's sweet.

Shawn: Is this a Maps & Monograms featured recipe?

Ashley: I like this dip and I don't even like booze in my desserts!

Hahaha

The boys loved it! As did the girls too! I'll most definitely be making this dip again, in the near future. It was perfect to dive into the dip and wash it down with one of Jason's famous margaritas. This stuff is addictive, but remember- calories consumed with friends don't count!
