Hey, y'all! You know what I'm a sucker for? A good pizza! I could seriously jump on the whole Pizza Fridays train. Lately, I've been playing around with different flavor combinations like this one inspired by my BBQ Chicken Pinwheels. This pizza is a delicious medley of BBQ pork, red onion, mozzarella, and goat cheese. These flavors blended together to form a pizza that was out of this world! If you're team cilantro, you could sprinkle some green goodness on top of your pizza to give it more color.
I wanted to make this easy as quick and easy as possible, especially since I was serving it on Game Day. I hate spending half of the game in the kitchen missing my game!
I know what you're thinking, BBQ pork takes forever! How can this recipe be quick and easy? My friends, I took a little shortcut! I hit up the freezer section of my grocery store and picked up a package of pre-cooked, frozen BBQ pork.
I also used a pre-made dough which made this recipe even more simple!
Ingredients: 1 pound prepared pizza dough 10 oz frozen BBQ pulled pork, prepared following the package directions 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese 3 oz goat cheese, broken into pieces 1/4 cup honey BBQ sauce 1/4 medium-sized red onion, diced Chopped cilantro (optional)
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Sprinkle a light coat of flour on your cooking surface. Roll pizza dough out into a 16" circle. Place the dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone prepared with non-stick spray. 2. Spread 1/4 cup honey BBQ sauce evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the toppings evenly over the pizza. 3. Bake at 450 degrees or until crust is cooked through and the cheese has melted- approximately 15 minutes. 4. Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with drizzled BBQ sauce or cilantro. Allow the pizza to stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
