Hey y'all! I love a good barbecue! Throughout the spring and summer months, my family has dozens of barbecues over at my parent's house. My dad gets behind the grill and works his magic with the meat while my brother, my mom and I whip up some pretty freaking delicious side dishes! We make everything from salads to veggies to scrumptious desserts.
Sitting outside on my parent's deck with my parents, my brothers and their families is one of my favorite things about the warm weather months. Here are some of our favorite barbecue recipes! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
It's watermelon season! Sure, you could simply cut up a watermelon and chomp on this summer-time favorite or you could mix things up a little bit and throw the melon a the grill! Grilled Watermelon Salad is a gorgeously delicious combination of watermelon, feta cheese, balsamic glaze and fresh basil. Talk about refreshing!
Everyone loves a good baked potato, but have you tried this dish in salad form? The red potatoes marry nicely with ranch dressing, shredded cheddar, fresh green onions and salty, crisp bacon. Loaded Baked Potato Salad will quickly become a household favorite!
One of my family's favorite recipes is a little something we like to call Redneck Salad. You may have heard it by another name, Frito's Salad. It is a fantastic combination of corn, peppers, onions, creamy mayo and crunchy Frito's. Don't let the name fool you, this dish will knock your socks off! Believe it or not, it pairs incredibly with a sophisticated dish like Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus!
There's pasta salad, there's taco salad and then there's Nacho Mama's Taco Salad. This modern dish takes two lunch time favorites and mashes them together for a fresh take on these classics.
Asparagus is one of my family's favorite vegetables. Jacked Up Asparagus is a gorgeous medley of fresh asparagus, onions, mushrooms and bacon. This dish is insanely good!
Are you a big fan of Brussels Sprouts? This Shredded Bliss Salad turned me into a fan! Fresh spinach and Brussels sprouts, classy shaved Parmesan, come together with an incredible dressing and a balsamic glaze to form this magnificent salad. It's so wonderful that it will turn anyone into a Brussels Sprout over!
Of course, it isn't a barbecue without some fresh fruit! Who can resist a huge bowl of freshly diced seasonal fruit? Strawberries, pineapple, apples, oranges, grapes and melons pair perfectly with The Best Damn Fruit Dip!
My friend Adam makes a killer pie that is perfect for BBQ's. It's light and refreshing and tastes great when topped with fresh fruit. Did I mention that it's a no bake recipe with only 3 ingredients? Check out this 3 Ingredient Yogurt Pie for a super simple dessert idea!
I'm a sucker for dessert dips. This Strawberry Cheesecake Dip might just be my favorite! It's not only delicious but it's incredibly festive and perfect for summer!
