Taco Pizza- A New Twist on Taco Tuesdays

Hello, friends! I'm always on the hunt for simple recipes...especially when it comes to dinner. After a difficult day at work, the last thing I want to do is spend an hour in the kitchen working on a meal. Don't get me wrong, I love cooking (obviously), but there are some days when a girl just wants to make something quick and easy.

Enter the Taco Pizza.

Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain any grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and water according the the directions on the taco seasoning packet. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare the pizza dough as directed on the packaging.

Spread the salsa evenly over the top of the pizza crust. Add cheese, meat and any other warm toppings (tomatoes, olives, jalapenos, peppers, etc).

Continue baking in the oven for about 5 minutes (or per the instructions on the pizza tube).

After removing the pizza from the oven, add cool toppings to the top of your pizza (lettuce, avocado or guacamole, sour cream, ranch dressing, uncooked tomatoes, etc).

This Taco Pizza would be the perfect twist for Taco Tuesdays! It combines two of my favorite foods, tacos and pizzas, into one out-of-this-world dish! What are some of your favorite taco pizza toppings? Let me know in the comments below!

One of the keys to creating homemade pizza is having the right tools. I prefer to use pizza stones over pizza pans because the clean up is a bit easier and I like the crunch the crust gets. My biggest advice in purchasing a pizza stone is do not buy the cheapest stone you can find. Cheap stones tend to crack after a few uses- which sucks. I got my stone from Amazon and I absolutely love it. It's designed to withstand heat up to 1500 degrees, so it's perfect for the oven and grill. This stone is super cool because it has a lip on it that prevents the pizza from sliding when you take it out of the oven, which is pretty handy since the stone is so heavy.
