Well, hello there.

Hey, ya'll! Remember me? I'm back for my hiatus! Ya'll, the last month has been insane. I had to take a step back from the computer screen and concentrate on some household matters. As many of you know, we began fostering little ones about a year ago. Last summer we took in a 3-month-old baby girl and her 3-year-old brother. They were reunified with their parents in November. Afterward, we took a short break from fostering so we could purchase and move into our new home, recharge with a quick trip to The Bahamas and get our new place licensed.

Back in March, we got our first call for another foster placement, a set of twin 1-month-old twin girls and a 1 1/2-year-old boy. Unfortunately, we didn't have space in our car for 3 rear facing car seats and I was sick with pneumonia at the time. We waited patiently for our next call. It wasn't until May that the phone rang with a call for another sibling set. On May 3rd we took in a set of 1 1/2-year-old twin boys and a 5-year-old girl. Apparently, the universe REALLY wanted us to have twins.

The kids are doing great. They've already grown so much in the 5 weeks they've been with us. I'll share more about them on my next Foster Friday post.

Now that we are in the swing of things and have our routine in place, I can finally sit back down and start banging out a few posts. Since taking the kids on, I've begun meal prepping. I've always meal planned but now I set aside a couple of hours one day a week to prepare several meals. This has helped us out tremendously! It has freed up so much time in the evenings to spend with our little ones. This meal prepping endeavor has inspired a new series Make Ahead Mondays!

If you haven't already, be sure to subscribe to the blog so you can catch all of my newest posts.

I'll also be sprinkling in some new recipes on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. I can't wait to share what we have been up to the last 5 weeks! See you soon!
