Don't spend the entire game in the kitchen! Check out these 5 Appetizer Recipes with Ingenious Shortcuts!
Hey, y'all! Happy Saturday! In this edition of Saturday's Snacks, I'm going to share with you 5 delicious recipes that involve some pretty ingenious shortcuts. When I am coming up with a football friendly recipe, it has to meet the following criteria:
It requires minimal prep time.
Finger-foods are a plus.
The recipe has to be delicious.
Sounds pretty basic, right? I love hunkering down on the couch on Saturday's and Sunday's to watch my games. The last thing I want to do is spend an entire quarter cooking in the kitchen. I'd rather be sitting in front of the big screen cheering on my Jaguars and Florida Gators. This is why I come up with recipes that can be prepared in advance or can be cooked at halftime.
Many of these recipes include creative shortcuts that help cut down on the cooking time. My motto is "Work smarter, not harder", especially on game day! Here are 5 incredible appetizers that are perfect for the game!
Easy & Cheesy Italian Bombs- These Easy & Cheesy Italian Bombs take only minutes to prepare. Delicious salami is surrounded by ooey-gooey cheese and premade biscuit dough to form the ultimate football food. They are finished off with olive oil and a pinch of Italian herbs creating a savory little bite-sized treat that will knock your socks off.
Mini Meatball Sub Sliders- I love taking classic dishes and making them into bite sizes pieces of heaven perfect for snacking on during the big game. This recipe uses frozen meatballs, Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and jarred sauce to create a super fun take on a football class.
Scrumptious Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups- This recipe is so simple that it's ridiculous. And the end result? Incredible! Simply take a tube of premade pizza crust and pile on slices of cheddar cheese and deli ham. Roll the dough up tightly, cut it into bite size pieces and brush it with a bit of egg. Sprinkle the tops with coarse salt and pop these bad boys in the oven for a yummy treat!
Chicken and Waffle Sliders- Ya'll, us Southerners love chicken and waffles. Apparently, in some places people only eat it for breakfast... weird! See how I took this traditional Southern dish and made it into a bite-size slider perfect for football!
Loaded Tater Tot Skewers- I love, love, love the combination of bacon, cheddar, and ranch. This combination is frequently known as "crack" and if you've tried it, it's pretty obvious why. This fun recipe piles the crack ingredients onto tater tots on a skewer for a delicious, portable dish.
