Dog Friendly Thanksgiving Food

Hey, y'all! I bet your pets are just as spoiled as mine, aren't they? My sweet Lady Belle and my spunky little Parker are spoiled rotten. I have a feeling that they get excited about Thanksgiving food as much as we do! In fact, many of the foods we traditionally eat are found in premium dog foods.

All dog owners and non-dog owners alike know that it’s impossible to say no to those eyes, but what do you do? It's important to keep in mind that not all human food is safe for them to eat. To help you and your fur baby out this holiday season, I've created this reminder of foods that are safe for your pups to eat.

Turkey- Like chicken, turkey is a lean, white meat that helps dogs build muscle. It is also a highly digestible protein source for dogs.

Pure Pumpkin- Pure pumpkin, sans all of the added sugars, is great to help prevent constipation, promote a healthy urinary system and helps with weight loss.

Plain Green Beans- Nutritious and low in calories, green beans are a good choice that will load dogs up with iron and vitamins. Make sure to feed your dog only fresh beans or canned ones with no added salt.

Plain Carrots- Carrots are full of Vitamin A, naturally clean your pups teeth and help improve coat color and eye sight.

Cranberries- Cranberries contain anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial qualities which can prevent the growth of E. coli, H. pylori, and many other GI related pathogens. Proteins found in cranberries keep your pooch's teeth pearly white!

Sweet Potatoes & Plain yams- Both are great for digestive health because they're high in dietary fiber.

Wishing you, and your fur baby, a safe and happy holiday season! See you next time!
