Homemade Pigs in a Blanket Chili Cheese Dippers are perfect for parties, tailgates, and game day snacks!
Hey, y'all! Welcome to the latest installment of Sunday's Snacks where I share with you a recipe perfect for enjoying during the big game! Throughout this series, I have shared with you some super yummy recipes such as Jalapeno Popper Dip, Bunless Burger Bites, Loaded Tater Tot Skewers and Chicken and Waffle Sliders.
When I am coming up with a football friendly recipe, it has to meet the following criteria:
It requires minimal prep time.
Finger-foods are a plus.
The recipe has to be delicious.
Simple enough, right? I mean, who wants to spend half of the game in the kitchen? Certainly not me! I'd rather be sitting in front of the big screen cheering on my Jaguars and Cowboys.
Football games in our household are a family affair. My brothers, sister-in-law, and all of our kids gather at my parent's house to watch the games on the big screen. It's a huge deal. Since there's a butt-ton of kids there, we make sure our football grub is kid-friendly. These Pigs in a Blanket Chili Cheese Dippers are definitely kid friendly!
I love this recipe because it is simple to throw together and they taste great! These delicious little guys are perfect for parties, tailgates, and game day snacks! This recipe starts off with my Homemade Pigs in a Blanket and my Warm Chili Cheese Dip. These two appetizers combine to form the perfect game day snack!
Chances are you'll have some extra chili so you may want to have some tortilla chips on hand!
Ingredients:
1 package Little Smokies
1 tube Crescent Rolls (uncut)
15 oz can chili
8 oz cream cheese, softened
8 oz cheddar cheese (pepperjack is great too!)
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375
Roll out the crescent roll dough. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips.
Take the strip and wrap it around the sausage. Continue onto all of the dough is used.
Heat the chili in the microwave (or stove top) until it's bubbly. Combine the chili, cream cheese, 3/4 of the cheese, and the seasonings. Stir to combine. Taste and add more seasoning, if desired.
Spray a 8" pie plate with cooking spray. Pour the chili mixture inside. Top with the remaining cheese.
Line the outside of the pie plate with the "Pigs in a Blanket".
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is a golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
