This creamy, cheesy, Mexican-inspired taco cheese ball is the perfect appetizer for your next party!
Hey, y'all! Welcome to the latest installment of Sunday's Snacks where I share with you a recipe perfect for enjoying during the big game! Throughout this series, I have shared with you some super yummy recipes such as Jalapeno Popper Dip, Bunless Burger Bites, Loaded Tater Tot Skewers and Chicken and Waffle Sliders.
When I am coming up with a football friendly recipe, it has to meet the following criteria:
It requires minimal prep time.
Finger-foods are a plus.
The recipe has to be delicious.
Simple enough, right? I mean, who wants to spend half of the game in the kitchen? Certainly not me! I'd rather be sitting in front of the big screen cheering on my Jaguars and Cowboys.
Football games in our household are a family affair. My brothers, sister-in-law, and all of our kids gather at my parent's house to watch the games on the big screen. It's a huge deal. Since there's a butt-ton of kids there, we make sure our football grub is kid-friendly. This Mouth Watering Taco Cheese Ball is totally kid friendly!
I love this recipe because it is simple to throw together and they taste great! This delicious cheese ball is perfect for parties, tailgates, and a game day snack!
Kitchen Essentials:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup pimento cheese (sour cream tastes great too!)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup taco sauce
1 tbsp taco seasoning
6 oz shredded chicken (I used a rotisserie chicken)
1 cup shredded cheese, divided (I used a Mexican blend)
Instructions:
Blend together cream cheese and pimento cheese (or sour cream) until smooth.
Add taco sauce and taco seasoning and blend until well combined. Add shredded chicken and 1/2 the cheese. Mix well.
3. Line a small glass bowl with plastic wrap. Spoon the mixture into the bowl pressing it down with the back of a spoon to remove any air bubbles. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
4. Unwrap the cheese ball and turn it out onto a serving board or a plate. Top with the remaining cheese. Press the cheese gently into the cheeseball to allow it to stick.
5. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips.
