Hey, y'all! Woo hoo! You made it to the end of the week. Give a round of applause for FRIDAY! Friday's here at Maps & Monograms are dedicated to Foster Friday, a series focused on our journey as foster parents. Over the last few weeks I've shared with you information about our PRIDE Classes, home preparation, information about our Home Study and revealed to our our future foster child's room.
I thought it would be fun to create a podcast centered around this series to help jazz it up a little bit. The more and more I learn about the statistics behind our foster care system in the United States, the more passionate I become about informing people of the need for foster parents. But, our podcast won't all be about numbers. It will feature personal stories of triumphs and defeats, information about becoming a licensed foster parent and an insight as to what foster care is really like.
If you've never listened to a podcast before, or are unfamiliar with them, they are basically like a mini-radio show. Podcasts are generally about the same topic, in this case, foster care. They are entertaining and often times, informative. Many people listen to podcasts on their commute home, while at the office or even have it playing while they are doing chores around the house.
The Foster Friday podcast is short and simple, lasting only about 10 minutes. My partner Ashley and I sit down with a glass of wine and simply have a conversation about foster care. If you haven't already checked it out, hop on over to iTunes and subscribe to our podcast today!
Episode One features shocking statistics about foster care and is a bit more serious, and simply focuses on the facts. From there, it's all stories and information delivered in a casual, entertaining way.
If you haven't already done so, head on over to iTunes and subscribe to check out our little podcast. We hope to see you there!
