Candy Rainbow in a Jar

Hello, friends! I hope you enjoyed all of the St. Patrick's Day Printables I shared earlier this week!

St. Patty's Day is one of the ultimate party holidays. For just one day a year, everyone is a little Irish... even this little Scottish lass. Now I may have outgrown the drinking Irish Car Bombs and pounding back green beer phase of my life, however I still celebrate this little holiday in a fun manner.

Each holiday I like to make a little "gift" to give to my closest friends. It's an easy way to show my appreciation for them and it lets them know I've been thinking of them. This year, in honor of St. Patty's Day, I thought I'd make everyone a rainbow in a jar.

The marshmallows represent the clouds, the golden chocolate coins represent the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and the Skittles, of course, are the rainbow itself. You could use any gold wrapped candy for this step. Some examples would be Rollos, Mini Snickers, Mini Reese's, Werther's, etc.

Project Supplies:

Mini Marshmallows

Golden Chocolate Coins

Skittles

Instructions:

1. Begin by filling a mason jar with Skittles to determine how many Skittles you will need for the project.

2. Dump the Skittles out of the jar and onto a clean space.

3. Add a few golden chocolate coins to the bottom of the jars. Top with marshmallows.

4. Sort the Skittles by color and layer them in the jar in the following order; red, orange, yellow, green, purple.

And there you have it, my Rainbow in a Jar. It's a quick, cheap, and easy way to show someone you're thinking of them.
